Woman dies in I-795 accident

A woman died Monday in an accident on I-795 North, near the Fremont exit, according to reports filed by investigators with the state Highway Patrol.
Trina Mullins, 52, of Bolivia, N.C., lost control of her vehicle, veered off the road and struck a bridge embankment at about 3:30 p.m.
First Sgt. Jerry Burton of the patrol's Wayne County office said Ms. Mullins was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and was pronounced dead from her injuries.
"Excessive speed was a factor, but she was wearing her seat belt," Burton said.
