Assault
A fight between two women escalated Sunday, to the point of gunfire. Kaneesha Battle, 21, 900 block Carver Drive, was assaulted in her own backyard, but soon got the upper hand in the altercation, according to Goldsboro police. At that point, four more women allegedly began beating and kicking her. While on the ground, Battle was shot at twice but never struck. Police have the name of at least one suspect and are investigating.
Man shot
Unknown suspects are being sought in the shooting assault of Marcus Demetrius Fleming, 30, of Wilson. Fleming was in his vehicle at on the 1600 block of East Ash Street about 5 a.m. Monday when he was shot, Goldsboro police said. He was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and treated for his injuries. Police are investigating.
