The Goldsboro Optimist Club has donated a computer to a local high school student as part of its Optimist Computers4Kids program.

The club refurbishes donated computers and provides them, for a small fee, to low-income families with at least one child in a Wayne County middle or high school of the Wayne County Public Schools.

The club collects donated computers on the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. until noon in the Sam's Club parking lot.

Computers are distributed on a first-qualified, first-come basis

To find out if their family qualifies, parents need to fill out an application and mail it to the Goldsboro Optimist Club. Applications can be obtained from social workers assigned to the public middle and high schools or by writing to the Goldsboro Optimist Club at P.O. Box 95, Goldsboro, NC 27530, by going to http://goldsborooptimist.org for an on-line application, or by calling(919) 920-1585 or (919) 920-8541.
