Prowler

Just after 3 a.m. Monday, Kristie Marquod, 39, 207 Creek Ridge Drive, was awakened by her sons. The boys heard something outside their window. When she wen outside to investigate she was alarmed to find a man standing on her neighbors pool ladder, which the suspect had moved to her sons' bedroom window.

According to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report, investigators found the ladder back on the pool, but the dirt around the window was disturbed and there were brush marks indicating someone had been leaning up against the screen.

Break-in

An unknown suspect broke into a home through a side window late Monday. Marcie Louise Mooring, 19, 115 Woodside Court, reported to Wayne County Sheriff's Office deputies that the suspect must have been watching her home because she'd stashed money in her microwave and that was the only thing missing.

Mooring reported having seen a black man she knows from the area passing frequently through her property recently. She believes he has a record for breaking and entering.

Fifteen stolen guns

Edwin Gray Bars, 74, 102 Dunwoody Road, reported a break-in to his home Tuesday. Suspects nabbed six pistols, 3 rifles, four 12-gauge shotguns and two 10-gauge shotguns, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report. The criminals also took the victim's prescription medications and caused damage to his back door when they kicked it in to gain entry. The value of the stolen weapons was listed as $5,500.

Scrappy thieves

According to Goldsboro police, an unknown suspect entered an unoccupied home and removed items likely to be sold for scrap. The kitchen sink, stove, bathroom sink and shower head were all removed from the residence at 834 Center Street.

Linda Moore, 24, is in the process of moving and left the back door to the home unsecured. There were no witnesses but police were able to process the scene.
