Volunteer award nominations now accepted

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 Governor's Volunteer Service Award.
This year marks the 35th anniversary of this program that showcases North Carolina's most dedicated volunteers.
Each county selects five individuals, businesses, groups/teams, and one director of volunteers to be recognized for their outstanding contributions to their communities. One of the five recipients will be nominated to receive the Governor's Medallion Award for Volunteer Service. The Wayne County Association of Volunteer Administration evaluates the nominations for Wayne County.
Nomination forms for Wayne County can be requested by contacting Tanya Rollins at (919) 580-2936 or Tanya.Rollins@ dhhs.nc.gov or by contacting Jeff Whitener at (919) 581-4565 or Jeff.Whitener@ dhhs.nc.gov.
Hard copies of the completed forms must be submitted no later than 5 p.m., Friday, Sept. 28.
