William Goodman will once again represent District 3 on the Goldsboro City Council more than eight years after he resigned from the seat due to a felony conviction.

Goodman received 326 votes -- 71.65 percent of 455 votes cast -- in the election, while Ben Farlow finished with 107, good enough for 23.52 percent.

When approached at the Wayne County Board of Elections office Tuesday night, Goodman declined to comment on the race and claimed he would not be reachable by telephone this morning.

Farlow called the results "disappointing," this morning, but said he would continue to remain involved with improving the city through his involvement with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission and through other avenues.

"I would like to have won or even done a little better," Farlow said, adding that he was undecided about running again in 2015. "I would like to have served, but I will re-evaluate and see how things go over the next three or three-and-a-half years. I'm still gonna stay with all the things I'm doing and try to find other ways to get involved and help improve the city."
