Fatal Fire not Suspicious

A mobile home fire that claimed the life of a Wayne County man early Sunday is no longer being considered suspicious by investigators.
Gabriel Velasquez died in the fire at 128 Brenn Loop Road in the Mar-Mac community.
Maj. Tom Effler of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office said the cause of the fire remains undetermined, but no foul play is suspected.
At first, investigators said they believed the fire could have been set.
Although a neighbor told rescue personnel at the time of the blaze she believed two men occupied the home, deputies have since learned otherwise.
"The second occupant had already moved out," Effler said today. "He was at the party the night before, but was not in the house at the time of the fire."
Investigators would not say where they believe the fire originated. The victim's body was found in the front hallway
