Teams are being formed for the third annual Neuse Region Alzheimer's Walk, planned for Saturday, Oct. 20, at Wayne Community College.
This will be the third annual walk, sponsored by Alzheimer's North Carolina Inc., which provides programs and services for families, education and training, advocacy and research. All proceeds raised remain in North Carolina.
Teams are being sought from Wayne, Duplin and Greene counties, said Missy Harris, community educator with Community Home Care and Hospice. They can be comprised of friends, neighbors, co-workers, organizations or churches, all with the goal of working to support families dealing with Alzheimer's or related forms of dementia.
The first team meeting will be held Wednesday, June 20, at noon at Wayne Memorial Hospital auditorium. At that time, participants will receive registration forms, information packets, posters and items to sell.
