Library speaker to talk on Underground Railroad

Meltonia Loretta Young will present "Stories from the Underground Railroad" June 16 at 3 p.m. at the Wayne County Public Library.
The program is a combined art exhibit, historical lecture, and exploration of the symbols and secrets behind the famous quilts used as a communication device by slaves seeking freedom on the Underground Railroad.
Ms. Young is an accomplished artist and a Road Scholars speaker for the North Carolina Humanities Council, which made the event possible with a grant.
