Black swan, more taken

Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating a break-in and theft at the home of Lawton Caswell McKenzie, 32, 400 Old Black Creek Road, Fremont. More than $9,600 worth of property was reported stolen.

Items taken were: Black male swan, $625; laptop computer, $525; 27-inch screen TV, $387; incubator, $1,200; incubator, $350; saw/drill set, $225; tool bag, $80; assorted tools, $800; shotgun, $300; painting, $100; 10 men's designer jackets, $1,000; men's suit, $375; Samurai sword, $350; $35 in $1 coins; a Liberty dollar coin; 30 half-dollar coins; 25 Susan B. Anthony $1 coins; 175 $2 bills; Weed Eater, $189; helmet, $100; chain saw, $300; edger, $80; mower, $2,200; Marvel comics, $300; and an assortment of baseball and Pokemon cards. Damages totaled $150 to Mo-ped mirror and $10 to a clay flower pot.

Checks forged

Goldsboro police said that four different checks belonging to Pamela Reason, 52, 115 Pate Circle, were forged by two different suspects on two different occasions at the North Carolina State Employees Credit Union. The checks were in the amounts of $950, $750, $950, and $850.

A/C unit taken

Someone stole a 1.5 ton air conditioning unit belonging to Joseph Robert Congleton Jr., 45, 4806 Ayden Golf Club Road, Ayden. The unit, located at a home at 181 Edmund Springs Road, was valued at $2,500.

Copper theft

Reilly Thomas, 68, 932 Mills Road, told sheriff's deputies that someone did $1,200 in damages to an air conditioning unit at his house by cutting the unit's copper tubing.

Theft

Ashley Necole Levier, 25, 101 Gina Ave., Dudley, reported the theft of the following items -- Internet router, $50; fan, $25; 70 DVDs valued at $200; 42-inch flat-screen TV, $2,000. Damages totaled $50 to a door.
