Government offices, more to close for Memorial Day holiday

Local, state and federal offices, the post office and banks will be closed Monday in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
All Wayne County offices will be closed including the landfill and convenience centers. Wayne County Public Schools will be closed.
Town halls in Goldsboro, Mount Olive, Pikeville, Fremont, Seven Springs, Walnut Creek and Eureka will be closed.
Goldsboro's Monday trash pickup will be shifted to Wednesday.
Mount Olive's recyclable center will be closed, too. Monday's trash pickup route will be picked up on Tuesday and Tuesday's route will be picked up on Wednesday.
In Fremont, Monday's trash pickup will be shifted to Tuesday.
The closure will not affect services in Pikeville, Seven Springs, Walnut Creek or Eureka.
The Goldsboro/Wayne Transportation Authority will operate on a holiday schedule on Memorial Day. The bus service will run from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
