Man shot in city

A Goldsboro woman was shot in the leg while in his home about 2:45 a.m. Sunday.

Synthia Denese Royal, 51, told Goldsboro police that three unknown suspects entered his home in the 100 block of Old Grantham Road.

Royal and a second person in the home, Latrina Monroe, 26, both told police that suspect asked where was the "money, drugs and where was Ricky?"

Ms. Monroe told police the Ricky the suspects were referring to was an acquaintance of her.

Royal was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Home break-ins

*Steven Stroud reported a break-in on his property the 2300 block of N.C. 11 South that happened between Friday and Sunday. Wooden boards were pulled off a building to gain entry and a four-wheeler, dirt bike and two helmets were stolen. The value of the property was listed at more than $5,500.

*Paula Pharco reported a break-in at her home in the 5800 block of N.C. 55 East in Seven Springs that occurred Friday. During the incident a 40-inch flat-screen television, a laptop and assorted antique coins were stolen. The property has a total value of more than $6,000. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured door.

*Thomas Faucette reported a break-in at his home in the 1000 block of Genoa Road in Dudley that occurred Saturday. A 12-gauge shotgun, valued at $200 and $150 cash was stolen. Entry is believed to have been made through an unsecured door.

*Jesus Velazquez-Velazquez reported a break-in at his home in the 200 block of Adams Road in Seven Springs. No forced entry into the home was discovered. More than $1,000 in cash was reported stolen.

*Toshio Shiraiwa reported that $1,000 of copper pipe had been removed from underneath a rental property in the 900 block of North Madison Avenue between May 5 and Saturday.

Dog bite sends man to hospital

A 61-year-old man was treated at Wayne Memorial Hospital after he was attacked by two pit bulls Friday afternoon at 1406 Maple St. According to a Goldsboro police report, Audrey Dickens reported that he was walking through the backyard of his aunt's home when the dogs came out from under a barn. The owner of the dogs, Freddie Tan, resides at 708 Rudolph St.

The dogs were captured and taken to the county animal shelter. Tan was charged with having a vicious dog inside the city limits and allowing the dogs to run at large.

PD responds to shot fired

Goldsboro police responded to a shots fired call about 7 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Carver Drive. According to a report, an unknown subject(s) fired an unknown firearm damaging an occupied home and two vehicles in the area.
