There is still a way to help the Relay for Life effort and to enjoy some music at the same time.

Wayne County native sons the Malpass Brothers will headline a benefit concert for Relay for Life Thursday at 7 p.m. at St. Luke United Methodist Church at 1608 E. Pine St.

The group will showcase songs especially for their hometown.

Also performing will be Rick Pridgen and his daughter, Alden, who each will solo with favorites such as "Somewhere Over the Rainbow," "You'll Never Walk Alone," "What a Wonderful World," "The Holy City" and more. Alden is a student at the N.C. School of the Arts majoring in vocal performance.

Songs especially for cancer victims and those who are dear to them will be sung by Sherry Aycock, including "Hero," "I Will Be Here" and "The Lord's Prayer."

The Pridgens and Sherry Aycock will be accompanied by renowned pianists Jimmy Aycock and Bess Sawyer.
