*Alice Crawford, 71, reported Wednesday that she was scammed out of $3,500 by a person calling her on the phone claiming that she was her granddaughter.
*Bryan Vanderpool reported the theft of $8,000 in copper wiring from a home in the 100 block of Oxford Drive that occurred between May 11 and Wednesday.
*Bertha Brown reported the larceny of a $1,000 diamond ring from her home in the 2800 block of Ridgecrest Drive that occurred between April 25 and May 16.
