Library celebrating Older Americans Month this week

The Wayne County Public Library next week will sponsor a series of programs celebrating Older Americans Month. All of the programs will be held in the Gertrude Weil Auditorium at the Goldsboro Library.
* Monday, the Song Birds will perform. The Song Birds is the Wayne County Services on Aging's choir that performs for senior citizens at the center and for groups in the community. The program will begin at 10:30 a.m.
* Tuesday, Dr. Jill Mills, assistant professor of recreation and leisure studies at Mount Olive College, will present "Successful Aging." Dr. Mills will discuss growing old gracefully by avoiding disease and disability, being mentally and physically active, and staying socially engaged. The program will begin at 11 a.m.
* Wednesday, popular local artist and photographer Rebecca Scott-Reynolds will present "Digital Photo Sharing for Newbies," a program designed to help newcomers to digital technology learn how to share their photos with family and friends by using e-mail, Facebook, and more. It will begin at 2 p.m.
