United Way launches volunteer website

United Way of Wayne County is relaunching Volunteer Wayne, with an easy-to-navigate site and ability for people to link to their Facebook account.
United Wayne has partnered with Galaxy Digital to create a customized volunteer site where volunteers and non-profit organizations can peruse volunteer opportunities throughout Wayne County.
The new format is easy for any age, said Karen Schneider, associated director of United Way of Wayne County, adding that it allows the organization "to track and analyze our ability to engage Wayne County in volunteerism."
United Way of Wayne County will be hosting 30 minute training for all non-profit organizations at the United Way office, 301 E. Ash Street, on May 1, one at 9 a.m. and another at 3 p.m. There will also be a series of webinars available for people who cannot attend.
Nonprofit organizations and volunteers can create their own profiles by going to United Wayne's website, www.unitedwayne.org.
