Man, bystander shot during robbery

Goldsboro police are investigating a shooting that took place about 10:30 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of Astor Court.

Jamila Hailey reported that she and Monquail Kenon were sitting in a parked vehicle when two armed people wearing ski masks approached the vehicle and shouted, "Give me what you got," according to an incident report.

Kenon is reported to have given the gun-wielding duo $500, and then, while attempting to take the firearm, was shot in the shoulder.

During the incident, several more bullets entered another vehicle occupied by Maurice Lewis, Tavarus Pittman and Ahmad Hooker.

Hooker, who was seated in the rear of the vehicle, was struck in the arm by the gunfire.

Hooker and Kenon were taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital.

B&Es and larcenies

*Emilio Creswell reported a break-in at his home in the 1600 block of E. Elm St. that occurred Tuesday. Entry was made by forcing open a back door. The property stolen during the incident included a $400 .40-caliber handgun, a $429 TV and $450 in jewelry.

*Leroy Bunn reported a break-in a residence at 285 Miller Chapel Road that took place between Sunday and Monday. A rear door was forced open to make entry. During the larceny, a $200 chandelier and two ceiling fans, valued at $200, were taken.

*Nicholas Gwatney reported the larceny of a $300 .380-caliber, green and black handgun from his home in the 1000 block of Sixth St. that occurred between April 16 and Monday.

*Jamaal Hickman reported the theft of a Kawasaki motorcycle, valued at $6,700, from behind his home in the 270 block of Sheridan Forest Road Tuesday.
