Deputies investigate Dudley break-ins

*Gary Jackson reported the theft of more than $7,000 of property from his shop, located in the 500 block of Old Mount Olive Highway in Dudley, that occurred between March 1 and March 2 to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

The shop has two openings that are not secured with doors, according to the report. The stolen property includes tractor weights, excavator bottom rollers, bulldozer bottom rollers, a chain saw and a concrete saw blade.

*Deputies are also investigating a report by Antonio Alonzo of a break-in at a home in the 1300 block of Old Mount Olive Highway in Dudley, that occurred between March 2 and Friday. It appeared a door to the home was kicked in to gain entry. The stolen property included generators, saws, a nail gun and an air compressor. The value of the tools was reported at more than $1,400.

B&Es and larcenies

*Chequila Barnes reported the theft of a 55-inch flat-screen TV and $1,000 in cash from her home in the 300 block of Forest Knolls Road that occurred on Saturday. Barnes told authorities that a friend, whose name she didn't know, was at the house when she left on Saturday. When she returned the listed property and the friend were gone.

*Martin Britt reported a break-in at his home and barn in the 100 block of Jesse Jackson Street in LaGrange that took place between March 1 and March 4. Goods stolen during the break-in included a welding machine, transmission, washing machine, clothes dryer, go-cart, chain saw, living room suite, ladder, 32-inch flat-screen TV, stove, refrigerator and assorted tools. There was no forced entry found at the home. The value of the stolen property was more than $3,500.
