Mayor Al King has proclaimed April as Child Abuse Prevention Month. WAGES and the Wayne County For Children Council organized the event at which Green gave the keynote speech on the steps to City Hall. More than 129,000 children were referred to local Department of Social Service agencies for possible abuse and neglect in North Carolina in 2010.
