Shooting into Dudley home
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting into a home at 917 Durham Lake Road in Dudley
Curtis Hagans reported he and the rest of his family were in bed when fired shots were heard about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Hagans reported to deputies that he got up and found where a bullet had entered the home near the dining room window, next to the front door, traveled through the home and exited a rear window.
Deputies located three shell casings on the property.
B&Es and larcenies
*Valerie Reed reported the theft of copper wire from an a/c unit at her home in the 200 block of Sydney Drive in Dudley that occurred between March 21 and Wednesday. The incident resulted in $500 of stolen property and damage.
*Tonie Bryant reported a break-in at his home in the 100 block of Autumn Ridge Drive that took place between March 22 and Wednesday. A rear window was broken to gain entry. Property taken from the home included three flat-screen televisions and two laptops, which had a total value of more than $4,000.
*Town of Stantonsburg employee Tom Goss reported the larceny of 2,000 feet of copper wire, valued at $2,000, from power lines on N.C. 222 East. The theft occurred between Tuesday and Wednesday.
