Man charged in meat theft
The theft of $15 of rib-eye steaks from Piggly Wiggly, located at 100 Lionel St., Saturday evening led to a foot pursuit involving a Goldsboro police officer.
Mick Worrells allegedly concealed two steaks while in the grocer and left the store.
A police officer was contacted and chased down Worrells. The steaks were dropped during the pursuit and recovered by police.
Worrells was charged with larceny and resisting a public officer and placed under a $600 bond.
Woman fired at following hit and run
Cheree Blackman reported that she was shot at while driving her car on the 900 block of Fourth Street at about 4:30 p.m. Thursday as she followed a suspect who had hit her vehicle.
Ms. Blackman told authorities that someone backed into her vehicle on Country Day Road then drove off. She followed the suspect in her vehicle, at which point she was fired upon. The gunfire did not strike Ms. Blackman or her vehicle.
Students assault educators
Two separate reports of assault on school personal were made by School Resource Officers at Dilliard Middle School, located at 1101 Deveraux St.
Both incidents occurred Thursday and included different juveniles.
Firearms stolen from retailer
WT Guns employee Kirk Mayes reported the theft of two firearms from the business located at 115 Centura Drive.
Mayes told authorities two Taurus Judge Blue handguns were stolen Friday by men who had purchased ammunition and left the store.
B&Es and larcenies
*Michael Puch reported a break-in at his home in the 700 block of Force Road that occurred Friday. Entry was made through a window. Stolen property included a 42-inch TV, an X-box, video games and movies. The value of the stolen goods was more than $1,200.
*George Parker reported the theft of a flat screen TV, valued at $3,500, from his home in the 2800 block of Carol St. Entry was made into the home Thursday by knocking a door off its hinges.
*Jacob Moore reported the theft of a $650 TV from his unsecured storage unit located at 216 N. Berkeley Blvd. that occurred between Feb. 23 and March 10.
*Javier Escobar-Mejia reported the larceny of a 50cc scooter, valued at $1,500, from a parking lot behind Torero's Mexican restaurant at 112 N. John St. The scooter was stolen Saturday evening. The scooter was not secured, but was without a key.
