After-school activities canceled, some schools to dismiss early

Central attendance area schools, including Goldsboro High School, Dillard Middle, Carver Heights Elementary, School Street Elementary and North Drive will dismiss one hour early today, as will the Wayne School of Engineering and the Wayne Early Middle College High School because of the inclement weather threat. All other schools will be on their regular schedules. School officials explained the decision was made because the central attendance area schools share school buses with the other two. All after-school activities are canceled for the day. The basketball playoffs at Rosewood High School have been rescheduled until 1 p.m. Saturday. Wayne County is under a tornado watch until 8 p.m.
