*Amber Capps, the owner of Eagle's Nest Diner, located at 516 N.C. 581 N., reported the theft of $175 from the business' cash register. According to the incident reports, entry was made into the eatery by a rear door being pried open. The theft took place Monday between 1:15 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.
*A Wayne County employee reported more than $7,000 of damage to three a/c units during the theft of $400 of copper tubing to a county Health Department at 301 N. Herman St. The incident took place Monday between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
*Justino Hernandez reported a break-in at his home in the 400 block of East Hill Street that occurred Monday. A rear door was forced open before more than $1,000 in property was stolen. The stolen goods included a 32-inch TV and jewelry.
*Grover Smith Jr. reported the theft of tools from his vehicle while it was parked in the 100 block of Quail Croft Drive. The theft occurred between Monday and Tuesday. The stolen items included drills, a roofing gun, saws and batteries that had a reported value of more than $1,700. Entry was made into the truck by breaking a window with a fire extinguisher.
