Two area fast food restaurants were robbed Monday night by masked men carrying weapons.
Goldsboro police said three men wearing masks and carrying handguns robbed the KFC at 214 N. Berkeley Blvd. about 8 p.m.
Snow Hill police Chief John Ray said three men wearing dark clothes and masks and carrying handguns also robbed a Bojangles restaurant at 1035 Kingold Blvd. about 9:15 p.m.
Neither the Goldsboro Police Department nor the Snow Hill Police Department would say whether they believed the robberies are connected.
The amount of money in each robbery was not disclosed and further descriptions of the robbers also were not made available.
Neither police department would say how they believed the thieves got away nor in which direction they were believed to have fled.
Other reports alluded to an increasing number of such fast-food restaurant armed robberies across the eastern part of the state.
