Duplin County Agribusiness Dinner set for Jan. 30

KENANSVILLE -- The Duplin County Agribusiness Council will hold its annual dinner meeting on Monday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. at the Lois G. Britt Agricultural Center in Duplin Commons, across from James Sprunt Community College.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Tom Melton, deputy director of the state Cooperative Extension Service.
He has served in several leadership posts at NCSU and is a former Philip Morris Professor of plant pathology.
The Duplin County Agribusiness Council is a concerned group of Duplin County residents working together to increase awareness of the county's agribusiness industry and its vital importance to the overall economic well-being of the county and the state.
Annual membership dues are $30 per person, which includes the cost of the annual meeting meal. Membership dues paid before Jan. 23 will receive a $5 discount.
Dinner tickets for non-members are $15 for adults and $5 for children age 12 or younger. For more information, call the Extension Service office at (910) 296-2143.
