Unforgiving bunker

Howard Hunt reported that an unknown suspect(s) drove a vehicle onto the fairway and green of the 15th hole at Southern Wayne County Club between Dec. 19 and Dec. 20.

It appears, according to the report, the suspect drove off of Club Knolls Road and onto the golf course. The amount of damage was reported at $100.

B&Es and larcenies

*Deane Best reported the theft of more than $5,000 worth of jewelry from her home in the 1100 block of Grantham School Road that occurred between Dec. 3 and Friday. There appeared to have been no forced entry into the home in recent weeks.

*Marcos Vega reported a break-in at his neighbor's home in the 2800 block of Arrington Bridge Road that occurred between Friday and Saturday. Vega noticed an open window and a curtain hanging out and contacted authorities. A $600 TV was discovered missing.

*Albert Knowles reported a break-in from his vacant rental property in the C&K Home Park, located in the 100 block of Buddy Lane in Dudley. The theft occurred at an unknown time in December. A $2,000 a/c unit had been removed from the outside of the home. The suspect(s) pried open a door to gain entry to then remove copper tubing from the walls behind the sinks of two bathrooms. Parts of several appliances had also been looted. The total value of the stolen and damaged property was listed at more than $4,600.

*William Dillard reported the theft of a 46-inch TV, valued at $598, from his storage trailer in the 100 block of Boarder Place. The TV was stolen during a break-in between Saturday and Tuesday. Dillard told authorities the storage trailer was secured with two pad locks, which remained intact when he discovered the TV missing. Dillard said he suspected the suspect had a master key and returned the locks after the theft.

*James Dove Jr. reported a theft at his vacant rental property in the 300 block of Rollingwood Drive in Dudley. The stolen property included scrap metal, chain-link fencing and the front end of a Massey Fergueson tractor, valued at $1,500.

*Angela Coor reported the theft of her neighbor's $1,500 a/c unit. Her neighbor lives in the 100 block of Dosia Drive. The theft took place between Friday and Saturday.

*Lisa Clairemont reported the break-in at her home in the 1800 block of Myrtle Court that occurred between Dec. 21 and Friday. Ms. Clairemont told authorities that the suspect(s) entered through a window to enter the home. Once inside, the suspect went through the freezer and cooked food. A pipe, perhaps used to smoke marijuana, was found left behind on the counter. The items stolen during the incident include a laptop, 20-gauge shotgun and cash. The total value of the stolen goods is not known.

*Malissa Holibaug reported the theft of a $300 rifle and cash from her Pikeville home in the 100 block of Laulas Place. The theft took place between Dec. 20 and Dec. 21. The firearm was later located a Goldsboro pawn shop.

*Edwin Pike reported a break-in at his home in the 900 block of Red Hill Road in Stantonsburg that occurred between Saturday and Sunday. The suspect(s) removed more than $3,500 of scrap metal from in and around the property. The items removed include an 8-foot railroad track section, an a/c unit and a 1939 transmission.
