Johnston County bus overturns

Firefighters from Nahunta, along with law enforcement, work at the scene of a single school bus accident Tuesday afternoon on Old Kenly Road just inside the Wayne County line. Johnston County Public Schools bus No. 275 was carrying 13 students when the driver overcorrected in a curve and ran off the left side of the road and into the ditch. The students were able to safely evacuate the overturned bus, although three students were transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. The bus driver, Pamela Harper, was charged with failure to maintain lane control.
