Members of the 4th Fighter Wing Explosive Ordnance Disposal flight -- and Military Working Dogs from the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base kennel -- were mobilized late this morning in response to a bomb threat at the new Cherry Hospital construction site.
But after several hours of searching the grounds -- the airmen, following a lead that originated when an unknown individual made a call to local authorities, believed there might be an explosive at the site -- it was determined that there was never any threat to workers, the Wayne County community or the residents and employees of the current Cherry Hospital.
