Church larceny
Providence United Methodist Church, 251 Providence Church Road, was broken into and items were removed between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Stuart Annette noticed three males in and around the Boy Scouts' building behind the church and the storage building connected to the church. According to the report made with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office, the suspects entered the cemetery and damaged tombstones and burial plots, using their feet, hands and two baseball bats.
Terry Hobbs, church employee, reported the incident.
The damaged property included 107 tombstones/burial plots valued at $107,000, seven windows valued at $2,000, various camping supplies valued at $3,000, miscellaneous food items value at $1,000, light fixtures valued at $400 and miscellaneous crafts, fixtures and pictures valued at $3,000.
Home break-ins result in stolen guns, TVs
*Dominick Derrico reported his home, located in the 200 block of Devonshire Drive in Dudley, was broken into and items were removed between 8 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. Friday. The stolen items included a $900 Remington .30-06, with a scope and magazine containing bullets, an $800 laptop and an $800 47" flat-screen television. The television was later recovered on the property.
*Versa Stevens reported her home, located in the 300 block of Pleasant Pines Drive, was broken into and a $200 flat-screen TV was removed between Thursday and Friday.
*Cherri Merick reported her home, in the 100 block of Black Jack Church Road, was broken into and items were removed between 9:30 a.m. and noon. The stolen items include a $500 shotgun, $200 Wii game console, $300 laptop, $100 iPod and two $60 Wii games.
*Ernest Quinn reported his home, located in the 1300 block of Hood Swamp Road, was broken into and items were removed between Nov. 5 and Friday. The stolen items included .357 revolver, flat-screen TV, wedding ring, laptop and other jewelry. The total value of stolen items was reported at over $8,000.
*Gabriela Cruz reported a break-in at a property in the 400 block of Providence Church Road between Thursday and Friday. The suspect(s) had entered the building by prying open a back door. Once inside the suspect(s) removed .38 revolver valued at $700.
*Jerrica Evans reported her home, located in the 100 block of Clover Ridge Drive in Dudley, was broken into a $2,000 flat-screen TV was stolen between Thursday and Friday.
*Jeffry Newcomb reported that his home in the 200 block of Becton Circle was broken into between Nov. 6 and Thursday. A $200 .38 special snub nose was stolen from his night stand. Newcomb gave Wayne County Sheriff's deputies the name of a 16-year-old suspect.
*Charles Hare reported the theft of 20 lights from a chicken house located on his residence in the 600 block of Princeton Road in Princeton between Nov. 6 and Friday. The value of the lights was listed as $2,500.
*Hauter Assalmy reported that his home in the 1000 block of Harris Street was broken into Saturday between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m.
A $1,000 flat-screen TV, $800 laptop and a $500 XBox were reported stolen.
Business thefts
*A woman is being accused of stealing Heineken beer and Pampers diapers from the Walgreens, 2606 E. Ash St., on Saturday around 7 p.m. A store employee told Goldsboro police the woman distracted her by asking that a cologne case be unlocked while she exited the store carrying two Heineken 12-packs and two cases of diapers. There is video footage of the suspect and the vehicle the woman fled in was also reported. The total value of the stolen goods was $78.96.
*Internal components of an outside heat pump were removed from North Ridge Homes, 201 Carrboro Road in Fremont. Employee Bradford Curtis reported the crime. The value of the stolen parts is listed as $3,196.
*A silver 1997 Honda Accord valued as $5,000 was stolen from Sandhill Motors, 1155 U.S. 13 S., between Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. The theft was reported by Dale Grady.
