Goldsboro Mayor Al King was elected second vice president of the N.C. League of Municipalities Board of Directors during its annual conference held Oct. 22-25 at the Raleigh Convention Center.

He will serve a one-year term.

Nearly 1,200 municipal and state officials and guests were in attendance at the conference. Founded in 1908, the league is a membership association of more than 540 cities and towns. For more than 100 years, the association has promoted good government by offering non-partisan advocacy, insurance and other services as directed by its membership.

By tradition and subject to annual election, league officers move from second vice president to first vice president to president.
