A Virginia man being sought in connection with the Aug. 14 rape of a Goldsboro woman has been jailed without bond in Chesterfield County, Va.

Esdras Saqueo Perez-Lopez, 25, of Richmond, Va., was arrested Tuesday by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force and is awaiting extradition to Wayne County.

Perez-Lopez, who was charged with first-degree kidnapping and second-degree rape, was identified by an eyewitness, police said.

Investigator J.T. Beeken of the department's Criminal Investigation Division was called to the 1800 block of North William Street shortly after 3 a.m. on Aug. 14.

The victim, a 26-year-old white female, told officers she was walking home when she was grabbed, pulled to a secluded spot and raped.
