Ten charged from drug raid

MOUNT OLIVE -- A marijuana plant growing in a five-gallon bucket was among the marijuana and crack cocaine seized during a pre-dawn undercover drug raid Thursday that resulted in the arrest of 10 suspected street-level drug dealers.
Also seized were $2,533 in cash, drug paraphernalia, electronics and a firearm. The electronics included a number of GPS units. Det. Sgt. C.J. Weaver said several GPS units had been reported stolen in recent days.
"We will turn them on and and see who they belong to," he said.
The campaign, Operation Clean Sweep, which included undercover drug buys, ran from June to October with assistance from Warsaw Police Department, Smithfield Police Department, Wayne County Sheriff's Office, Duplin County Sheriff's Office and N.C. Probation and Parole.
Most of the arrests were made on arrest warrants. However, search warrants were executed at 604 Oliver St. and 507 Oliver St.
Arrested and taken before the magistrate at the Wayne County Jail were:
* Asrid Dantonio Simmons, 32, 604 Oliver St.: Sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, $25,000 bond.
* Clarrisa Renee Williams, 43, 604 Oliver St.: Sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, $50,000 bond.
* Corey Antwain Williams, 24, 105 Pine Hill Road, Dudley: Sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, $25,000 bond.
* Maurice Hicks, 34, 406 S. Church St.: Sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, $40,000 bond.
* Herbert James Tanner Jr., 27, 1018 S. Johnson St.: Sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, $25,000 bond.
* Charles Edward Faison, 47, 217 S. Center St.: Sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, $25,000.
* Rahean Lamar Robinson, 24, 101 E. Williamson St.: Sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, $40,000 bond.
* Angelo Artis, 45, 152 Nellie St.: Sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, manufacture marijuana, $50,000 bond.
* Anthony Daniel Artis, 27, 721 Oliver St.: Sell cocaine, deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine, sell marijuana, deliver marijuana, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, $75,000 bond.
