Mayor's disability committee award nominations due Oct. 3

Nominations for awards to be presented by the Mayor's Committee for Persons with Disabilities are due by Oct. 3.
The awards will be presented by Mayor's Committee at the annual awards luncheon on Oct. 20 at noon at Herman Park Center.
There are five awards given this year: Employee of the Year, Employer of the Year, Committee Member of the Year, Most Accessible and the Mayor's Trophy.
Nominations and tickets, which cost $12 each, can be obtained at the City Community Office at 204 Center St. or by calling Sue Chance at 580-4359 or e-mailing her at schance@ci.goldsboro.nc.us.
Sponsors are being sought for the luncheon. The costs of sponsorship is $300 and includes eight admission tickets and recognition on the event program. Also, there is a $500 sponsorship, which includes 16 tickets.
The guest speaker at the event will be John Chance, director of the Wayne Opportunity Center.
Wilber's Barbecue will be catering the luncheon.
