Woman, 87, assaulted
Jennifer Lauren Rouse, 29, of Diddy Bo Lane in Kinston, was arrested by the New Hanover County Sheriffs Office Wednesday after allegedly robbing a women inside of Andy's restaurant on N.C. 111 South.
According to a Goldsboro police report, Ms. Rouse approached an 87-year-old woman who was in the restaurant and asked to borrow money for something to eat.
The woman was about hand over some money, according to a police report, and Ms. Rouse pushed down the elderly woman and grabbed her wallet.
Ms. Rouse ran out of the restaurant and employees of Andy's chased her and were able to obtain valuable information in regards to the suspect.
The victim received only minor injuries during the robbery.
A warrant for common law robbery was secured against Ms. Rouse, and she was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $5,000 bond.
