Make-up day for Hurricane Irene closures of Wayne County Public Schools have been announced.

The first day classes were out, Aug. 29, will be made up by all traditional schools, including Goldsboro High and Dillard Middle schools, on Friday, Oct. 28. Wayne Early/Middle High School and Wayne School of Engineering will make up the day on Thursday, Oct. 13.

A make-up day was also required for four schools that were closed an additional day, on Aug. 30, due to continued power outages. Wayne School of Engineering, Goldsboro High, Wayne Academy and Northeast Elementary students will attend classes on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012. Those schools will operate on a half-day schedule for students and staff, and will follow the early dismissal schedule.
