Miss North Carolina 2011, Hailey Best, is hosting the Crowns, Kids and a Cause fundraiser, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Park House in Herman Park.

This is Miss Best's first official fundraiser for her community service platform, Live On Foundation. The Live On/Miss North Carolina Bubble Gum Campaign is an effort to sell one piece of bubble gum to represent each of the 4.5 million children in the U.S. who are currently living in homeless shelters, battered women's shelters or children's homes.

As part of her year of service as Miss North Carolina, Miss Best will raise funds and awareness for the Live On Foundation, non-profit organization based in Charlotte that help give children ages of eight to 18 currently living in homeless shelters, battered women's shelters or children's homes, the chance to participate in academic, artistic and athletic programs and extracurricular activities that would otherwise be unavailable to them.

In addition to Miss Best, also in attendance will be Mackenzie Faggert, Miss North Carolina's Outstanding Teen; Abbey Norris, North Carolina's Little Miss Dream Angel; and Miss North Carolina's court of princesses.

During the event, Miss Best will also be signing autographs as well as filming a promotional video for Live On.

Tickets are $10 in advance and can be purchased online at www.liveonfoundation.org or $15 at the door. Refreshments will be provided, and DJ Cosmo will be the emcee and musical entertainment for the evening.
