Dove hunting season starts Saturday

This weekend marks the opening of dove hunting season, so county residents should expect to hear some gunfire.
The season starts at noon Saturday and runs until Oct. 8.
Hunting is permitted until sunset.
Officials with the state Wildlife Resources Commission said all hunters must carry a hunting license and Harvest Information Program certification.
All dove hunters must also use only firearms containing plugs to limit the rounds that can be loaded in the magazine.
The daily bag limit is 15 doves on opening day.
Sheriff Carey Winders said some county residents can expect to hear the sound of hunters firing guns near their communities.
