The Malpass Brothers, Christopher and Taylor Malpass, will be performing a concert at Wayne Community College on Saturday, August 20 at 7 p.m., just a week before the band travels out of the country to perform in Northern Ireland.
The brothers perform a variety of traditional country music that include covers of great songs by the likes of Johnny Cash, Earnest Tubb, Faron Young, Hank Williams Sr., Marty Robbins, Elvis Presley, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, Jimmie Rodgers, Merle Haggard and many more.
Brent Hood, long-time friend of the brothers and producer of the show, will open the concert with a few songs in honor of his parents' 50th wedding anniversary, which is the same day as the event.
Christopher and Taylor have been touring as an opening act for country music legend Merle Haggard the past three years. The boys have released a new album on the Hag Records label, after recording with Haggard's band, The Strangers, in California.
The music video to the cover song on the album, "Memory That Bad," is currently airing on the cable music television channel CMT Pure. The video has been in the top-12 on CMT Pure 12-Pack Countdown for the past five weeks and is currently No. 7.
