Breaking and entering
*David Warren, of Warren's Small Engine Repair on U.S. 70 West, reported to Goldsboro police a breaking and entering at the business, and produced a surveillance tape that contained footage of a subject walking around the premises and handing tools to two other subjects who were positioned outside the fence. Nearly $10,000 worth of items were reportedly taken during the theft.
*Kali Smith, 28, North Berkeley Boulevard, told Goldsboro police she returned home from work Friday morning and discovered a door had been forced open and a $1,200 laptop computer and $700 32-inch flatscreen TV were missing. Damage to a door and frame were estimated at $200.
Worthless check claim
Lindsey McNally, 23, of Holly Road, filed a worthless check claim with Goldsboro police after a female allegedly claimed to have lost identification. Ms. McNally said she agreed to cash several checks for the woman, who needed the money to pay for medication, only to later learn that the checks were from a closed account. The amount reported was $2,168, including bank fees.
