Arrest made in city shooting

Tremayne Malik Lane, 18, of Royal Drive, Dudley, was arrested Friday by Goldsboro police and charged in the May shooting that sent six people to the hospital.

Lane, of Royal Drive in Dudley, was charged with 10 counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property and six counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Lane, a senior at Golds-boro High School, was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $1,001,500 secured bond.

Police said the investigation of the shooting that took place at a residence in the 400 block of North George Street is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.

Lane's arrest was made three days after the arrest of his half-brother, Jaquan Amand Dennis, who was taken into custody under the same charges stemming from the shooting.

Dennis was cleared of all charged less than 24 hours after his arrest.

Lane was also charged with one count of larceny of a firearm for an unrelated incident.

Those injured in the May 22 included included the home's resident, Raimonte Walls, 21; James Crawford Jr., 16, of Greenleaf Street; Covia Williams, 19, of Rudolph Street; Teianna Howell, 16, of North Alabama Avenue; Demetrius Raiford, 21, of North Kornegay Street; and a 15-year-old male juvenile who was not identified.
