Former Wayne Community College President Dr. Ed Wilson will be the commencement speaker at Mitchell Community College on Friday evening.
Wilson retired in 2007 after having served as WCC president since 2002. He currently serves on the boards for the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, the Wayne County Development Alliance, the Wayne County Community Foundation, and is chair of the Wayne Education Network. He has previously served on the board of the American Association of Community Colleges, the N.C. Association of Community Colleges and was selected 2004 N.C. Community College President of the Year.
The ceremony will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the college at 500 W. Broad Street in Stateville. It is open to the public.
