Wayne County school board policies are now online.
From governing principles and board operations to facilities and fiscal management, the public can access the complete list of district policies via computer.
School officials announced that the board policy manual can be found on the district website, www.waynecountyschools.org, by accessing the link to "board policies." Once there, it's just a matter of going to the table of contents or doing a search.
"What makes the online version valuable is you come over to the search button and can put in a phrase or a word and it's going to find all the (related) policies," said Olivia Pierce, executive director of community relations, media and technology. "It will save a tremendous amount of time."
Board Chairman Thelma Smith said she had already had an opportunity to suggest that to one resident, and said she was pleased to have an alternative to pulling out the "big book" of policies.
"I can now tell them, find it on the web," she said.
