Residents in Wayne, Wilson, Edgecombe, Halifax, Johnston and Nash counties Wednesday can voice their opinions on the proposed final version of the State Transportation Improvement Plan.
The meeting will be held in council chambers on the third floor of the Fredrick E. Turnage Municipal Building, 331 S. Franklin St., Rocky Mount.
The plan lists all the projects that will use federal funds between now and 2016. The N.C. Department of Transportation is required by the federal government to have a plan and receive public input on it.
The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. with a brief presentation. After a question and answer period, people can speak directly with DOT staff and submit written comments. This process will be repeated until the meeting ends at 7 p.m.
People may look at the proposed list of projects and comment online at www.ncdot.gov/projects/PublicEngagement.html.
In addition, they can visit this website to ask questions, request assistance or access additional information.
