About 60 students from four colleges spent their spring break in Wayne County this month, helping work on homes for Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County.

"We have hosted students over 15 times hosting during their breaks and we are appreciative of their efforts," said Olivia Wiggins, volunteer coordinator for Habitat. "The work these students will do during their spring break will have a lasting impact in our community."

Students from Kutztown University and Penn State University volunteered March 6-12.

Students from SUNY Cortland-Break Group and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will volunteer March 13-19.

For the past 22 years, more than 182,000 students have spent their school breaks volunteering across the country through Habitat's "Collegiate Challenge" program.

Habitat for Humanity of Wayne County plans on helping more than six families obtain housing this year, officials with the organization said.
