RALEIGH -- All of the state's driver's license offices will be closed Monday for an update of the National Driver Registry.
The system update will affect driver licensing transactions around the country throughout the President's Day weekend, but is expected to curtail business in North Carolina for one day.
Driver's licenses may be renewed up to six months prior to the birthday renewal date. Appointments for driver improvement clinics will not be accepted Monday. However, hearings already scheduled to take place at driver's license offices will be held.
The closure will not affect license plate agencies that register and title vehicles.
Online applications for duplicate licenses and ID cards may continue to be submitted. Information: (919) 715-7000.
