29-year-old charged in sex case

Andra Edwards, a 29-year-old man, has been charged by Goldsboro police in the statutory rape of a 14-year-old girl with whom he shared a residence on the 800 block of Rudolph Street.
Two families, a total of four people, shared the home. Edwards and the victim are not related.
The victim's mother filed the report.
Police officers went to the home Tuesday to investigate the complaint but Edwards had left before they arrived.
An investigator then went to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where the victim was treated and later released.
A warrant for Edwards' arrest was obtained and Edwards turned himself into authorities on Wednesday.
He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under a $500,000 secured bond.
