The Goldsboro City Council will meet Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the council chambers in the City Hall annex, following a work session that starts at 5.

A public hearing will be held on the proposed closing of an alley running from Lee Street to Jackson Street. The closing is being sought by Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Among the items on the council's consent agenda is approval of a master plan for Stoney Creek Park. A master plan created must be created within the past five years for the project site and the project has to conform to the plan for the city to receive grant money to help with the project.

City staff has met with the Stoney Creek Park Alliance and this item was discussed and approval is recommended.

The council also will be able to ask questions of the accounting firm that conducted an audit of the city's finances during 2009-10. Michelle Keifer of Pittard Perry and Crone will be present to provide a brief overview of the audit and to answer any questions the council might have.

The council also will consider setting public hearings on two contiguous annexation requests -- one off 11th Street and one off North Oak Forest Road -- as well as make appointments to several advisory board.
