Pete Evrard, of Mt. Olive Pickle Co., helps assemble the giant pickle that is traditionally dropped to mark the start of the new year. The event will be held Friday at 7 p.m. (midnight Greenwich Mean Time) at the company in Mount Olive.
Wayne County residents will join the rest of nation and world in ringing in the new year on Friday night.
