Hit and run victim found on U.S. 70

Richard Leon Cook, 53, of Jackson Springs, was found dead this morning in the median of U.S. 70 West near its intersection with Community Drive, the victim, authorities believe, of a hit-and-run accident.
Cook's body was found about 7:30 a.m., but evidence indicated he was struck about 4 a.m.
Law enforcement officials say they believe Cook, a USDA employee on his way to work west of Wayne County, was struck by a commercial truck, but have no other leads as the investigation continues.
