Wayne-Duplin BPW to name Woman of the Year

MOUNT OLIVE -- Wayne-Duplin Business and Professional Women's Club will honor a local "Career Woman of the Year" at the regular November BPW dinner meeting which will be held Thursday at 6:15 p.m. at the Pizza Village on North Breazeale Avenue.
Joanna Helms, president of the Wayne County Development Alliance will be the speaker at this event.
Mrs. Helms is responsible for all economic development activity for the County of Wayne and its seven municipalities. Her presentation will focus on the responsibilities of the Alliance in the areas of new investment, job creation, the development of industrial sites, etc. in the Wayne County area.
The Wayne-Duplin Business and Professional Women's Club and BPW-NC participated in National Business Women's Week during the week of Oct. 18-22. The annual observances offers communities, companies and organizations an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge the contributions of working women in the local and state work force.
Mayor Ray McDonald and the town of Mount Olive have recognized Wayne-Duplin BPW with a proclamation honoring working women.
